LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
As part of our commitment to lifelong learning, Classes & Workshops are offered in the spring and fall to enlighten and inspire learners of all ages. These unique learning opportunities are taught primarily in a small group setting at Carnegie Hall. The maximum number of students is set by the instructor. Because space is limited, we recommend registering early.
Introduction to American Sign Language March 14, at 10 a.m.
Instructor: Emma Foster, BA in ASL & Interpreting, MSW, LICSW

Ages: 14 and older
Offered in conjunction with the 'Sweet Honey in the Rock' musical performance March 20, which will include live ASL interpretation and in continuation of Carnegie Hall's mission to further inclusivity and accessibility in the arts, this beginner level ASL workshop will introduce participants to the ASL alphabet, basic signs and conversational phrases. Students will also gain an understanding of Deaf culture and receive instructional hand-outs for take home reference and practice.
