Carnegie Hall and Greenbrier County Schools are members of the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts: Partners iTn Education program. This partnership enables Carnegie Hall and Greenbrier County Schools to collaborate on various arts and education endeavors. Together, we have made a commitment to improve artistic literacy of our students by providing professional development opportunities in the arts for educators. This series is titled Teach SmART. These participatory workshops for teachers are designed to enhance all areas of curriculum and support West Virginia Content Standards and Objectives.
Teach SmART workshops inspire fresh ideas for teaching, provide techniques that complement different styles of learning, and offer opportunities for personal satisfaction and growth. Staff development credit is available for workshop participants, and continuing education units are provided through New River Community and Technical College and Bluefield State College.
Teach SmART benefits everyone wishing to strengthen their teaching skills. Teachers, principals, tutors, parents, artists and community members are invited to participate in a Teach SmART workshop. Register by calling 304-645-7917, or by email to trent@carnegiehallwv.org
